FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I finance a spa?

Yes, absolutely. Coastal Hot Tubs offers several different options for financing. One of our friendly staff members would be more than happy to walk you through the process.

  • Where can I place my hot tub?

A hot tub needs to be placed in an area that can hold the weight of the tub and is level. A concrete pad is preferrable, but a deck or pavers would be acceptable as well.

  • What is hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy refers to using water as therapy in any form. With a hot tub, jets can target achy muscles and joints. Along with the hot water this can help alleviate effects of anything from arthritis to a sore body from a hard day's work.

  • What are the health benefits of a hot tub?

    • Relieves stress by helping you relax and unwind
    • Manages muscle aches by increasing blood flow and easing tension
    • Helps heart health by improving cardiovascular function and lowering blood pressure
    • Improves your sleep by promoting relaxation and reducing stress hormones
    • Helps with arthritic pain
  • How often should I change the water in my hot tub?

This can vary depending on how often you use your hot tub. Typically, it is recommended that the water is changed every 3-4 months. If you use your hot tub every day, you may need to change your water more regularly. You can help keep the quality of your water up by making sure you are keeping the correct level of chemicals in the water and keeping your filter clean.

  • How do I know which spa is right for me?

There are several things to consider when looking for your perfect spa. How many people are you looking to accommodate? Is this for therapy or fun, or maybe a little of both? Do I have an adequate space for this spa? As a certified dealer, we can help you navigate all of the particulars from browsing to getting your new spa installed.

  • Are spas difficult to maintain?

Depending on usage, sometimes your spa may need a little more love than other times. Once you get your spa water balanced, it's more or less shocking your water once a week and drain/refill your water every 3-4 months. If there is heavy usage, you may need to adjust the chemicals in your water more often. It's a simple process which we are more than happy to guide you through. Also, when your spa is not in use, always keep your cover on. This will keep your water and chemicals from evaporating quickly, while keeping debris out of your water as well.

  • Salt water systems VS Chlorine/Bromine systems. Which is better?

Salt water systems work by turning Sodium Chloride or Sodium Bromine into chlorine and bromine. So, essentially, when it's all said and done, you are still using a chlorine or bromine system if you have a salt water system in place. Salt water systems also tend to corrode your plumbing components faster. There is nothing in a salt water system that stabilizes pH, so you will still need to test and balance your water just as you would with a chlorine or bromine system.

  • Can I try out a spa before I purchase it?
